The Wychavon Town proposals set out plans for a major new settlement to the south-east of Worcester, centred around Worcestershire Parkway railway station. The current outline planning applications, now under consideration, seek consent for up to 5,500 homes with a purpose-built town centre, employment and mixed-use space, schools, healthcare facilities, and integrated transport links as part of a broader plan for around 10,000 homes overall.
The development is being planned to grow in phases across many years, with the South Worcestershire Development Plan Review adopted in 2026, and key infrastructure and early neighbourhoods anticipated to begin emerging by 2027. Delivery will continue through to 2041 and beyond, with around half of the homes expected by 2041.
